Clinical diagnostic laboratory carries out a wide range of clinical and experimental tests for healthcare and medical research purposes, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, techniques and quality control.
The lab integrates novel techniques for diagnosing anemia (ferritin and B12 levels) and cardiovascular diseases (troponin 1 test) with the help of paramagnetic particle–based ELISA with chemiluminescent detection. Reversed phase HPLC with precolumn derivatisation is used to detect homocysteine, cysteine and free amino acids in patients with chronic hepatitis C. These studies are the foundation for diagnosing severe viral hepatitis, renal and liver failures, complications from stomach resection and organ transplants, lymphoblastic leucosis, non-insulin-dependent diabetes, neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases in the near future.
The lab conducted a number of clinical studies, including Semaks neuropeptide in volunteers (2002), Khophytol preparation in patients with infectious hepatitis (2005) and hyperhomocysteinemia during chronic hepatitis C (2006), and several influenza vaccines:
